Candle Burning and Safety Tips
We ask that you would please take a moment to read, understand, and practice these candle tips for your safety. When used properly, candles can provide soft light and a fragrant relaxing and tranquil atmosphere. However, failure to use precaution when burning candles could result in a fire hazard, injury, or smoke damage.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Keep burning candles within sight at ALL times.
- Always keep candles out of the reach of Children and Pets.
- Do not place lighted candles where they can be knocked over by children, pets or anyone else.
- Do not burn near flammable objects such as curtains, lampshades, or blankets.
- Always burn candles on stable, heat resistant surfaces.
- Do not move a burning candle or an extinguished candle if the wax is still hot.
- Trim the wick to ¼ inch each time before burning to prevent smoking and soot build up on container or other items.
- Keep the wax pool free of wick trimmings, matches and debris at ALL times.
- Keep burning candles away from drafts and other air currents.
- Extinguish any candle if it smokes, flickers repeatedly, or the flame becomes too high.
- Extinguish the flame if it comes too close to the holder or container.
- Do not burn if container is cracked.
- For a margin of safety, discontinue burning a candle when less than ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom of the container.
- Do not burn candles for more than 3 hours at a time.
- Extinguish all candles when leaving a room or before going to sleep.
